Leave the humdrum of the city for a beautiful bike ride around Hendry County in Southern Central Florida raising money for new bikes for underprivileged kids this September 25th

Register NOW for the Tour de Hendry County Gran Fondo

Join up for the first ever cycling event in Hendry County, the Tour de Hendry County Gran Fondo on Saturday, September 25, 2021!

Starting from Clewiston, America’s Sweetest Town, you’ll ride the 84 mile Gran Fondo with 2 aid stations and police escort.

In true North American Gran Fondo format, this is a chip timed event with race results. The event is open to all riders, with age group categories for Women and Men; U22, 23-34, 35-44, 45-54, 55-64, 65+.

Each athlete will have their own timing chip, which starts right after you cross the start line and stops when you cross the finish line.

The scenic rural route will take you through sugarcane, citrus, cattle, and panther country.

2021 Tour de Hendry County T-shirts will be given to everyone for completing this challenging ride!

Coffee and a snack will be provided before the race and lunch will be provided after the race, all included in your entry fee of just $49 ($69 after Sept. 4th).

The Course

The ride starts at 7:30 am sharp, there is parking at Evangel Church, 350 S Berner Rd, Clewiston, FL 33440.

The first part of the ride will take you west on US 27 through sugarcane country and vegetable farms. You’ll turn south on Flaghole Rd. to Montura Ranches.

You’ll ride south on CR 833, the Sam Jones Trail through an area called Devil’s Garden – named for Jones, the only major Seminole War leader not killed or captured during the wars.

You’ll turn west on Keri Rd to the 1st aid station. You’ll ride through cattle country, the Okaloacoochee Slough State Forest and panther country.

You’ll head north on SR 29 towards LaBelle, the county seat. You’ll bypass Main St. staying south of the city and head east on SR 80 to aid station #2. You’ll continue east on SR 80 for 25 miles to the finish line!

The proceeds of this event will benefit the underserved kids in our community with brand new bikes.

Top finishers in each age bracket will hand out brand new bikes to kids in our community after the race!
