Why Edmonton?

What makes L’Étape Edmonton by Tour de France different from other cycling events is the amazing Down Town riding, unpredictable wind, the bridges and several challenging climbs. Anyone with a bike can find an event to race in L’Étape Edmonton by Tour de France.

The Race—160 km (100 mile)

The highlight of L’Étape Canada by Tour de France will be on Sunday August 14, 2022—the cyclosportive, also called Gran Fondo. The 160-km route will be on closed and semi-closed roads with professional timing to allow participants to experience the ultimate Tour de France feeling. This is a unique chance for ambitious and fanatic cyclists to ride a real Tour de France stage and compete against others on a challenging course with the same regulations that apply to the pros. At the finish line, just like in a professional race, the same rules apply—whoever crosses the line first, wins the coveted Yellow Jersey. After the finish, the different Tour de France jerseys will be handed out to the best riders.

The Ride(s)—80-km, 40-km

In addition to the race, L’Étape Canada by Tour de France also provides high-quality ride distances for those who might not feel ready for the 160-km push. Participants can challenge themselves by choosing either the 80-km or the 40-km ride. Enjoy cycling with friends, business relations and colleagues, safely on marked bicycle routes. Anyone with a bike can ride L’Etape Canada by Tour de France.

Families and Kids

The Saturday program of L’Étape Canada by Tour de France gets everyone involved. There is a Kids Race, with all proceeds going to local charities, and families can participate in the Family Ride on Sunday.
