The Killer Climb with a Closed Road: Mt. Baker Hill Climb is Back!
The iconic Climb of Mount Baker in Washington is back by demand this Fall.
The Mt. Baker Highway is one of the “most scenic paved roads in the country” and this is your chance to climb it on a closed road!
With steep elevations and several switchbacks, this ride is not for the faint hearted - but the views are simply stunning.
There are three categories for cyclists of all abilities including the Social Ride starting at 7:00 am, the Recreational Race at 8:00 am and the Competitive Race at 8:30 am.
Starting at Chair 9 in Glacier, cyclists climb 4,462 feet of elevation in the 22 miles to Artist’s Point over, with stunning views on a closed road.
There is also the fully sublimated winner’s jersey for the top female and top male racer in the following age divisions; 13-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, and 60+.
1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in each age division will also receive a locally produced medal. You must be registered in the Competitive Division to be eligible for Awards.
Transportation and Bag Drop is available for those who want to get changed at the top and those who don’t wish to ride back down.
You can also ride in style as Jerseys, bibs, socks, and caps will be available for purchase at Packet Pickup, on Race Day and in advance (select items). Voler Jerseys and shorts available on the event website.
The first 100 riders to register in 2022 will receive a free pair of socks!
