650 riders at the 10th Annual Oregon Coast Gravel Epic Weekend

Riders battled against the rain and cold and also enjoyed the sunshine in Waldport and Yachats Oregon last weekend

650 riders at the 10th Annual Oregon Coast Gravel Epic Weekend

On the Saturday, close to 400 riders took part in the 10th Annual Oregon Coast Gravel Epic, on a misty day with a rain shower 90 minutes into the event that left the unprepared cold and motivated to finish or get a ride at the second aid station.
 
One broken Collarbone from the leader after 42 mile, who continued and finishing 3rd overall!
 
Despite the cold, Charles Mahaffy of Coos Bay finished the long route at the age of 82! 
 
Serena Gordon (Liz Racing Collective) was the fastest women on the 60 mile Abomination course in a time of 3h 56m ahead of Brenna Wrye-Simpson (DNA Pro Cycling Team) in second and Evelyn Boling (Fast Fun Nice p/b Campfire Endurance Coaching) in third.
 
Zach Winter (Pacific Office Automation Cycling) was the fastest for the men in a time of  3h 30m ahead of Jade Rohde (Team Landshark) in second and Aris Sophocles (Evolution in third)
 
Kristen Lipscomb was the fastest on the 37 mile Son of Abomination course in a time of 2h 46m ahead of Monica Emerick (Plush Global) in second and Sari Hargand (Fast Fun Nice Racing Team) in third.
 
Kendal Johnson was fastest for the men on the 37 mile Son of Abomination course in a time of 2h 18m ahead of Andrzej Stadnik (Biciclista US) in second and Stephen Snider (Mudslinger Adventure Squad) in third.

The next day the Oregon Triple Crown of Gravel series was in Yachats for West Coast Gravel with sunny skies and 240 riders.
 
Serena Gordon (Liz Racing Collective) continued her winning streak and won again on the 53 mile Erik the Red course in a time of 3h 41m ahead of Evelyn Boling (Fast Fun Nice p/b Campfire Endurance Coaching) in second and Sheri Masessa (Flywheel Bicycle Solutions) in third.
 
So did Zach Winter (Pacific Office Automation Cycling) who won again on the 53 mile Erik the Red course in a time of 3h 17m ahead of  teammate Gabriel Love in second and Conor O'Brian in third.
 
Amy Engelhard (Go Gast Have Fun Be Nice p/b Campfire Endurance) was fastest on the 34 mile Leif Eriksson course in a time of 2h 29m ahead of Liza Gualandi (Murder of Crows cycling club) in second and Sari Hargand (Fast Fun Nice Racing Team) in third again.
 
Andrzej Stadnik (Biciclista US) was fastest on the 34 mile Leif Eriksson course in a time of 2h 6m ahead of Dan Rock in second and Kenneth Labeja (Triple Oak Power) in third.
