VIDEO: Kettle Mettle Gravel Fondo Returns to the KVR Trails

The oldest Gravel Fondo in Western Canada was back again this Salturday in Penticton after its pandemic hiatus, with dozens of bikers taking on the Kettle Valley Rail Trail. Western Canada's Premier Gravel Fondo celebrated its 8th edition!

The 8th edition of the oldest Gravel Fondo in Western Canada, the Kettle Mettle showcased the Kettle Valley Rail Trail and the amazing scenery of the Okanagan while also providing a safe and challenging ride this weekend.

Race organizer Dean Stanton from Tri1Events, commented "When we first started the event year's ago, it was really quite small but it has grown. We have people from all over and we've added different distances. This year we had a two day ride."

"It's great to see the whole thing grow. We're coming back and hoping to build this bigger and bigger",  Stanton continued.

"The Kettle Mettle Gravel Fondo brings out participants from across Canada and the United States to Pendicton.

"85% of participants are are from outside Okanagan, 25% are from Alberta. We have less Americans this year due to COVID, but before COVID we had Americans from Oregon, Washington and Montana and Ontario. This event has a very wide reach and appeal. It's known to be a pretty cool, epic, amazing views, tressels, just awesome."

"Kettle Mettle is one of our three events, part of the Triple Crown of Gravel series. We had one on Vancouver Island earlier this year, the Cowichan Crusher and we have our last event in the series on a few weeks time, the new Sea 2 Sky Gravel Fondo in Squamish."
