The Cowichan Crusher was the pioneer of Gravel Fondo events on Vancouver Island.

We are pleased to present the 6th edition of the Cowichan Crusher, on May 7th, 2023 is the first round of the Triple Crown series, which takes place in the scenic Cowichan Valley. The Cowichan Crusher showcases the amazing gravel roads and scenery of the Cowichan Valley, providing a scenic and challenging ride. The Cowichan Crusher starts at Lake Cowichan which makes for better access to gravel roads and trails.

Rolling hills, blanketed in lush green trees, a large lake and panoramic views are some of the reasons this is one of the best places in the world to ride gravel!

The ride features three routes of Beginner (approx. 25km), Medio (approx. 65+ km), and Full Fondo (approx.100 km) distance events which cater for all abilities of cyclists. Start and finishing in Lake Cowichan, participants will enjoy nearby camping, accommodations Post event meal and cold beverage and possibly a post ride dip in the lake.
