Get ready to embark on a journey through San Diego's diverse athletic landscape. Seeking a unique and challenging adventure, look no further than THE GIRO DI SAN DIEGO. It's an exhilarating cycling event that takes you through San Diego's scenic routes, showcasing the city's natural beauty and sporting culture.

The excitement kicks off and concludes at Escondido's beautiful Ryan Park, ensuring a memorable day of two-wheeled adventure at 7:15 AM sharp.

The Giro has got something for everyone with four amazing road routes to choose from, including the 20 mile Piccolo Fondo, the 30 mile Medio Fondo, the 59 mile Palomar and 95 mile Mesa Grande Gran Fondo’s. The routes host many of the best rides in the North County that have challenged former Professional riders including Lance Armstrong, Chris Horner, Axel Merckx, Thurlow Rogers and many others.

The 56 mile “Palomar Metric Century” and 95 mile “Mesa Grande Century” Gran Fondo boast the fiercest of all climbs in San Diego, the south grade of Palomar Mountain. The Giro di San Diego is the only local event to feature a timed climb up the South Grade of Palomar Mountain. Often compared to France’s Alpe d’Huez, Palomar is a fabled climb that has been featured twice in the Tour of California bicycle race.

The 95 mile “Mesa Grande Century” GranFondo also features a route that includes the Mesa Grande, a serene and picturesque loop in the back country of San Diego.

The GIRO is famous for its challenging and picturesque routes, outstanding ride support, mouth-watering food both on and off the course, and a post-ride party!

All riders start together at 7:15 AM, creating an electrifying mass start experience that'll have you revved up and ready to roll.

For more competitive and fearless riders, conquer the timed climb of Palomar Mountain and add an extra layer of excitement to your ride. Be a King (KOM) or Queen (QOM) of the Mountain and win fabulous prizes in various age categories. All routes are chipped times so you can your your times year after year.

Along the routes are well-stocked rest stops, so you can refuel and recharge, keeping your energy levels soaring.
