The Bluewater International Granfondo is an annual cycling fundraiser held in Sarnia, Ontario. Now in its 8th year, the Granfondo has raised over $400,000 in support of Bluewater Palliative Care Retreat, St. Joseph’s Hospice, Bluewater Health’s Palliative Care and BIG Brothers BIG Sisters.

The BIG Gravel Grind starts from the Legacy Rec Centre in Thedford, participants will have two routes to choose from: 40k or 80k. Participants will be able to enjoy fuel and refreshments along the route while taking in the beautiful countryside.

In Memory of Jamie Hastings, he was an iconic figure of Sarnia community. Known for his warm-hearted nature and infectious smile, Jamie Hastings stood out; his life will forever remain remembered with fondness by both co-workers and friends alike.

Jamie loved motorbikes not just as a hobby but as part of who he was as an individual, reflecting his adventurous side and personal values. This carried over into cycling where Jamie was a member of the local cycling club, ‘The Husky Hustle’. Friends and family remember his kindness and generosity when helping out other individuals; his impact was truly felt throughout his community with simple acts of kindness that brought positivity.

The routes are mostly well-maintained route with a few dodgy bits (those are the best parts) through beautiful country-side.

Registration includes a Signature Event Jersey, en-Route Fuel Stations and Post-Ride Meal & Entertainment.

All funds raised will support The Women’s Interval Home & Weir Active.

The ride is sponsored by Local 128 Boilermakers, KNK Mechanical Group and Great Lakes Bicycle Co.
