Mennow and Akins Fastest at Hotter'N Hell 100 Endurance Ride

For 44 years, the Hotter‘N Hell Hundred Endurance ride has firmly established itself as one of the premier century rides in the United States and the Festival has grown to four days and attracts 18,000 visitors

Friday evening saw the Criteriums for Men, Women and Children take place in downtown Wichita Falls which hosted the 4 day Consumer Show as well as the Wee-Chi-Tah off-road MTB race, Rugrats Rally and the famous Spaghetti Dinner.
 
On Saturday, the Festival hosted the 100 mile Primal Challenge and 75 mile, 100k, 50 mile, 25 miles and 10k routes, plus the Wee-Chi-Tah Gravel Grind.  The HHH has become the largest sanctioned century ride in the country.
 
The day started with Cannon Blast and Flyover of planes from Wichita Airforce base, with temperatures starting at 71F and rising to 94F during the day. Riders benefitted from aid stations every 10 miles to keep them fuelled up and hydrated. In the evening there was very popular Outdoor Concert .
 
In the 100 mile endurance ride, Les Akins was fastest for the men in 04:04:44, ahead of Rob Kostecki (04:04:45) in second and Ian McCarrell in (04:04:23) in third place. In the women's category, Sarah Mennow was fastest in 04:06:41 ahead of Kathleen Hanson in second (04:08:01) and Brandy Zimmer in third place (04:08:34).
 
In the 100 mile primal challenge, Gabriel Porterfield was fastest in 03:47:19 ahead of Mitch Adshead in second (03:47:30) and John Whittington in third place (03:48:24). In the women's category, Gabrielle Wrightsman was fastest in 03:49:09, ahead of Christina gokey-smith in second (03:49:09) and Deidre Thomas in third place (04:03:05).
 
In the 100 mile endurance ride, Les Akins was fastest for the men in 04:04:44
 
On Sunday there was the Wee-Chi-Tah Trail Run and the Quadzilla and Triple Threat awards which consisted of the 100 mile endurance ride and MTB race..
 
For over 44 years, the HH100 team of 3,500 volunteers have created a festival that ensure riders have a safe & fun time.
