Inaugural Gran Fondo Cuba a Big Success
The first edition of the Gran Fondo Cuba saw dozens of cyclists ride over 7 days across Cuba, escaping the winter.
The routes were epic with challenging climbs and thrilling descents, amazing views on quiet roads.
Those who took part could race with the fast bunch at the front, or take it easier and enjoy the scenery.
The challenge ended with a massage, a party and free drinks.
Riders chose daily distances of 180km, 125km or 75km throughout the challenge.
The overall results are as follows:
ALTO (180 km):
1st position = Dominique St-Jacques (male), Pascale Gagnon (female)
2nd Position = Claude Bouffard and Patrick Côté (ex aequo)
MEDIO (125 km)
1st position = Daniel Coulombe (male), Geneviève Poulin (female)
2nd Position = Richard Fecteau (male), Nathalie noise (female)
3rd position = Dany Harvey (man), Diane Lemieux (female)
PASCOE (75 km)
1st position = Serge Caron and Jocelyn Joyal ex aequoi - (men) Chantale Savoye and Anny Fortin (female) - ex aequoi.
