The Lone Star's Premier Cycling Event: The Texas Gran Fondo
Hosted in the heart of the Texas Hill Country, the beautiful and charming city of Fredericksburg will showcase the Gran Fondo on Sunday 5th April 2014.
The Texas Hill Country has phenomenal features that make it ideal for road cycling. The panoramic views of the area, winding roads and the Texas hospitality will certainly make the Texas Gran Fondo one of the most popular events of the season. There is a reason why the Texas Hill Country is known as the cycling capital of Texas.
The Texas Gran Fondo will appeal to those looking to ride for fun, to stay in good shape and to take on a personal challenge, all while enjoying the beautiful scenery of the Texas Hill Country.
Gran Fondo Experience
Different from traditional Century Rides, the Texas Gran Fondo provides individual timing for all participants
as well as awards for each racing category
Complete with a mass start and post party for all Gran Fondo finishers, the Texas Gran Fondo is set to be a premier cycling event not just in Texas, but North America too.
The cycling event will offer three course options; the Gran Fondo, a fast-paced, challenging 95 mile route including a special King and Queen of the Mountain timed segment of nearly 6 miles; the Medio Fondo, a challenging 56 mile route; and the Piccolo Fondo, a friendly but fast 35 mile route. 3 great routes and distances for different abilities of cyclists. The Final routes, maps and files for download will be available to all registered participants through a confirmation email starting early February.

Downtown Fredericksburg will be transformed into a place of welcome and celebration for participants and supporters happy to encourage cyclists at the arrival of the course. Join the Post Race Party where you will enjoy great food, beer and wine from some of the best restaurants, breweries and wineries in Texas. The Awards ceremony will take place at the same time.
Part of the proceeds from the Texas Gran Fondo will benefit the Hill Country Memorial Hospital.
