3,000 took part in the Gran Fondo Panama

A magical and unforgettable event, where the main attraction was the world champion, Italian Mario Cipollini.

"This event was very good. The weather was delicious, "said Cipollini yesterday, world road champion in 2002.

Three distances: 130, 86 and 48 kilometers, between the cities of Colon and Panama, were those that were covered in the competition.

"We exceeded expectations. Today (yesterday) we saw people with smiles on their faces. Really, the cyclists were able to complete their routes and have greater international participation, "said Mario Perez Venero, event organizer.

Venero reported that cyclists attended from the United States, El Salvador, Mexico, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Puerto Rico and Dominican Republic, among others.

"Amazing, people came from all over the world. It was not a planned further thing this year had a 31% enrollment of women".

Victor Hugo Penna and Oscar Sevilla were also in attendance.
