Gran Fondo Texas Sells Out in Advance

The Gran Fondo Texas, the Lone Star’s premier Cycling Event has sold out in advance of next weekends event on 5th April 2014.

Nearly 500 cyclists from across the USA, from Washington State to Florida and California to New Jersey will line up with riders from 6 different countries in Fredericksburg for 3 superb routes around the Texas Hill country.

Routes of 35,56 and 95 miles will take riders over some superb climbs including Harper, Doss, Cherry Springs, Hill Top, Crabapple. Fredericksburg is the unofficial capital of cycling in Texas and the area boasts some of the best cycling in America.

Gran Fondo Guide believes the event WILL become one of North America’s top Gran Fondo’s, if not internationally, over the next few years.

Testament to the success of the event is the amount of visitors Gran Fondo Guide receives from Texan cyclists. In fact cyclists from the state of Texas represents the second largest audience in North America demographically on the site.

That’s how popular cycling is in the Lone Star state -  in fact its massive!

The event is also organised by an experienced team headed up by director Humberto Olivo, whose vision and dedication to organise a top cycling event is first class.

A huge thanks goes out to the City of Fredericksburg, the City Council, the Mayor and all the community have really supported and embraced this event.

A huge thanks also goes out to the following well known local companies and brands who have sponsored and supported the event:

Bike World from San Antonio

Trek Bikes

MINI Cooper

BMW

Bill Shirer "Cyclist at Law"

OPA'S  Meats

Pedernales Brewing Company

The event has also recently partnered with the GFNY Cozumel, taking place in Cozumel, Mexico on November 23rd 2014. All 100 mile Gran Fondo participants in the event have a chance to win an all-inclusive package (flight, entry and hotel accomodation) to line up at the start of the GFNY Cozumel, touted as the “most beautiful bike race in the world”. This is a natural progression, as it is so easy for cyclists in Texas and indeed many States in the US to get to Cozumel quickly and cheaply.

Gran Fondo Guide wishes the organisers, the city of Fredericksburg, the city council, the Mayor, the sponsors and of course all the participants and supporters the very best ahead of the event. Ride safe of above all, enjoy a fantastic weekend of cycling around the Texas Hill Country!

Proceeds of the event will help the Hill County Memorial Hospital Foundation.

Remember - flat is boring!
