Ferreira And Aguirre Triumph In A Legendary Tierra De Campos Weekend

Mud, speed and international flair. The third edition of Gravel Ibereólica Tierra de Campos delivered a thrilling showcase of endurance and grit across the Castilian plains.

Part of the Gravel Earth Series, the event attracted 500 cyclists from 24 different countries, consolidating its place as one of the most vibrant and competitive gravel races in the calendar.

The main event, the Campos360, featured three demanding stages that pushed riders to their limits over the course of the weekend. While the marked courses offered the opportunity to ride fast and in group, it was the terrain—muddy and relentless—that ultimately shaped the race.

In the men’s field, Portuguese rider Tiago Ferreira put in a masterful performance to take the overall win with a combined time of 4:25:12, ahead of Belgian Arno Van den Broeck and 2024 winner Piotr Havik from the Netherlands. Ferreira, known for his MTB background and consistency, found in Tierra de Campos the perfect setting to display his strength and experience.

The women’s race was equally fierce. American rider Morgan Aguirre (PAS Racing) continued her remarkable season by taking another GES victory, this time in a total time of 4:58:26. After her triumph in The Hills, Aguirre now consolidates her lead in the overall standings. Behind her, Xaverine Nirere of Team Amani secured second place, while Marta Torá (Movistar Gravel Squad) and Hanna Nilsson (Sartoria Ciclista Squadra) crossed the line together, sharing the third step of the podium.

Beyond the results, the 2025 edition of Tierra de Campos marked a major leap forward in terms of scale and sporting quality. The event brought together some of the most prominent names in the gravel world, including Óscar Pujol, Thomas de Gendt, Tiago Ferreira, Marta Torá and Morgan Aguirre, along with the outstanding presence of Team Amani, who also took the win in the team classification.

Starting and finishing between Villalpando and Morales de Rey, the event adapted impressively to the challenging weather conditions. The local support was once again key, with over 300 volunteers, sponsors, and institutions making the weekend possible.

As the final stage came to a close, the race atmosphere turned into a celebration. Riders, teams, families and staff came together for a shared post-race meal in Morales de Rey—a fitting end to a weekend of effort, camaraderie and Earth-powered gravel.

Next up is The Traka on May 2-3, 2025.
