Register NOW for the Harvest Hundred

Join the Potomac Pedalers this September 21st for their marquee event in the fall the Harvest Hundred!

Riders will have a choice of three routes that wind through the quiet rural roads in Virginia’s Piedmont region, filled with rolling hills, horse farms, and pastureland. Whether this will be your first time riding in this region or the twentieth, you’ll be wowed by its beauty, and you’ll appreciate the event amenities and support for riders.

Riders can choose a 100 mile century, a 66 mile metric century, and lovely 45-mile Harvest Spin.

The 100.7 mile Century Ride has 6,620 feet of climbing, a challenging ride without being a day in the mountains. The ride starts off going south toward Warrenton before turning north, passing through Haymarket, Middleburg and Purcellville. The last quarter of the ride will be a long southerly ride back to Delaplane. The route is available here:.

The 65.7 mile Metric Century Ride has 4,250 feet of climbing. The ride has the same route as the century for the first two rest stops in Warrenton and Haymarket before heading west towards Marshall and Delaplane. The route can be found here:

The 44.9 mile Harvest Spin has 3,250 feet of climbing, so it counts as exercise! The route follows the route of the imperial and metric centuries into Warrenton before heading north through Arlie and turning west towards The Plains and Delaplane.

All three routes start and end at Barrel Oak Winery and Brewery in Delaplane, VA, about an hour outside of Washington, DC. The venue will provide a relaxing place to hang out and socialize after the event, regardless of the weather.

You can start to ride at the preferred early start time for the Century at 7:00 am.  Plan on arriving early so you have time to take advantage of coffee and pastries from a well-known local bakery.  There is no closing time for the century. We are riding on public roads. Feel free to take as long as you want. Food will be available until 5:00 pm.

Registration includes a choice of any of the three carefully curated and supported routes with well stocked rest stops and GPS maps. There will be at least three stocked rest stops for the century and two rest stops for the metric century. Each rest stop will have water, hydration drink, and road food available.

There will be support for mechanical issues and the phone number for the SAG wagon will be available on the morning of the ride.

There will be a delicious BBQ Lunch (with a vegetarian option) afterwards at Barrel Oak Winery and Brewery. Enjoy the view and the music. The BBQ lunch includes non-alcoholic beverages and locally produced wine and beer that will be available for purchase. There will be a free raffle with many great biking accessory prizes.

Potomac Pedalers is teaming up with Bikes for the World, and your participation in the event will help BFW fulfill its mission of donating bicycles to communities throughout the U.S. and the world. So come out for a great bike ride and help communities around the world gain access to greater mobility and opportunity through access to a bike.
