The vehicle also contained a telescopic baton, and two additional occupants—a 23-year-old and a 56-year-old—face related charges following the discovery.

Patrol officers, drawn to the vehicle by its San Marino license plate and heavily tinted windows, approached the Porsche and asked the occupants to exit. The cyclist was driving, a 23-year-old sat beside him, and a 56-year-old man was later found asleep in the back seat. During a routine inspection, one of the carabinieri noticed a small gap beneath the steering column covered by a piece of newspaper. After removing the plastic panel, the officer uncovered a wrapped package containing counterfeit banknotes totaling €2,000 in €20 denominations.

Authorities confirmed that all seized notes were counterfeit. In addition to the fake currency, officers found a telescopic baton inside the vehicle. The cyclist was arrested on charges of possession of counterfeit banknotes. The driver, the 23-year-old passenger, and the 56-year-old relative have been referred for further investigation and face charges related to the unlawful possession of an object intended to cause harm.

The individual in question is Andrea Piccolo, 24, from San Marino, a professional cyclist from 2021 to 2024 and former European youth champion, leader of the "Vuelta a Espana 2023."

His cycling career unraveled after he was detained at the Italian border two years ago. Piccolo was stopped by authorities upon returning to Italy on suspicion of “transporting growth hormone.”

The Italian admitted to transporting four different substances, which he chose not to name, but defended himself by stating he had never tested positive for any banned substances. But the good ole Italian National Anti-Doping Tribunal responded with a provisional suspension.

After “stepping away” from professional racing, Piccolo reinvented himself as a content creator on OnlyFans. His bio on the platform says, translated from Italian, “Come get to know a part of me that no one else knows.” His partner at the time, Colombian model/influencer Valentina Gomez, was, and is also quite popular on the platform.
