Janine Meyer and Luca Cavallo take Victory at 2026 Maratona dles Dolomites Enel Gran Fondo
Luca Cavallo successfully defended his Maratona title, while Janine Meyer claimed her first women’s crown at the 2026 Maratona dles Dolomites Enel — one of the world’s most iconic Granfondo events. With 9,000 riders from 72 nations, the race once again showcased the extraordinary challenge and beauty of the Dolomites.
Riders tackled three legendary courses — the Sellaronda, Medio, and Maratona — all starting at 6:30 a.m. in La Villa. The opening Sellaronda loop served as the gateway to the longer Medio and full Maratona routes, with each course traversing historic Giro d’Italia roads lined with thousands of spectators. The event was broadcast live on RAI, capturing the drama across seven mountain passes.
Seven feed stations supported riders throughout the day, offering everything from sports nutrition to strudel and sandwiches — a hallmark of the Maratona’s unique blend of challenge, culture, and hospitality.
On the 138 km Maratona route, Luca Cavallo produced a commanding ride to secure victory ahead of Koen Hendrickx and Vince Mattens, reaffirming his dominance on the high-mountain passes.
In the women’s Maratona, Janine Meyer claimed her first title with a strong and consistent performance, finishing ahead of Martina Cavallo and Michela Santini.
The 106km Corso Medio saw Marco Ceriani take a decisive win, followed by Matteo Fontanelli and Simone Impellizzeri, while the women’s Medio was led by Roberta Bussone, with Federica Cancellieri and Laura Simenc Kramar completing the top three.
With steep gradients, fast descents, and thousands of spectators lining historic Giro d’Italia roads, the Maratona once again proved why it remains one of the world’s most celebrated Granfondo events.
