Less Than 200 Places Left for the 2026 Marin Century — Event Expected to Sell Out

With registrations running 6% ahead of last year, the 63rd annual Marin Century, taking place on August 1, 2026, is on track to sell out its full field of 2,500 riders. Fewer than 200 places remain, creating a surge of last-minute demand as cyclists across the country move quickly to secure their spot in one of America’s most iconic summer rides.

Celebrated for its breathtaking routes and vibrant community spirit, the Marin Century continues to attract riders from coast to coast. Recognized by Outside Magazine as one of the Top 25 Rides in the World, the event showcases the stunning landscapes of Marin County while promoting healthy living, outdoor recreation and local tourism.

Participants can choose from five distinct routes, each tailored to different skill levels and riding styles. Options include the 63-mile Metric Century, the challenging 102-mile Century with 6,670 feet of climbing, the gruelling Double Metric featuring 11,070 feet of elevation gain, the scenic Mt. Tam route at 94 miles with 9,099 feet of climbing, and the more accessible 37-mile Geronimo. All routes begin at Stafford Lake Park in Novato, guiding riders through the foothills of Mount Tamalpais and along the dramatic coastline of Tomales Bay. The Century route remains the most popular, drawing both first-timers and seasoned endurance cyclists.

The Marin Century is renowned for its exceptional course support, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all participants. SAG vehicles operated by Marin Amateur Radio Operators, mechanical assistance, police presence at busy intersections and first-aid teams stationed at rest stops provide comprehensive coverage throughout the day. Riders will also enjoy live music at select rest stops, along with fully stocked stations offering refreshing beverages, local snacks and delicious treats.

The post-ride experience is equally memorable. Participants can unwind with an optional 15-minute sports massage and savour small-batch gelato or dairy-free sorbet from Fiorello’s. The day concludes with a celebratory BBQ featuring gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan options, complemented by a complimentary craft beer from Pond Farm Brewing. Live music adds to the festive atmosphere at the Finish Expo and party.

Since its inception in 1963, the Marin Century has been a cornerstone of the cycling community. The Marin Cyclists Club has donated more than $625,000 to local organizations, supporting youth programs, trail stewardship, safety initiatives and community events. The club prides itself on inclusivity, sustainability and support for small businesses, with 98% of past riders recommending the event to friends.
