The 63rd annual Marin Century unfolded under perfect skies last weekend

Recognized by Outside Magazine as one of the Top 25 Rides in the World, the event once again showcased Marin County’s dramatic coastlines, redwood forests, and the legendary slopes of Mt. Tamalpais, attracting cyclists from across the country.

Riders selected from five distinct routes tailored to different abilities and ambitions: the 37-mile Geronimo, the 63-mile Metric Century, the 102-mile Century with 6,670 feet of climbing, the 94-mile Mt. Tam route with 9,099 feet of elevation, and the gruelling Double Metric featuring 11,070 feet of climbing. The Century route remained the most popular, drawing both newcomers and seasoned endurance athletes.

A 9 a.m. mass start for the Geronimo created one of the day’s most memorable scenes, with Stafford Lake Park transformed into a vibrant hub of riders, sponsors, volunteers, and local businesses supporting the Marin Cyclists’ 63rd edition.

The Marin Century is renowned for turning a challenging ride into a full sensory experience, with exceptional hospitality, scenery, and community spirit woven throughout the day.

Course support was extensive, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all participants. SAG vehicles operated by Marin Amateur Radio Operators patrolled the course, mechanical assistance was available throughout the day, police monitored busy intersections, and medical personnel were stationed at rest stops. Many riders also took advantage of optional 15-minute sports massages at the finish.

The post-ride celebration featured a full BBQ with gluten-free, vegetarian, and vegan options, complemented by a complimentary craft beer from Pond Farm Brewing. Live music carried the festivities into the afternoon, creating a relaxed and communal atmosphere at the Finish Expo.

Proceeds from the event support Marin Cyclists, a nonprofit dedicated to social and physical wellness, as well as several youth and community organizations. Since its inception in 1963, the Marin Century has contributed more than $585,000 back into local communities, continuing its legacy as one of California’s most impactful cycling events.

2026 Marin Century Feedback

@shesthemother - What I mean when I ask “will there be food?” On course food was so good. 10/10. Will do again next year. Maybe 100 miler? Not pictured, but what I also ate: Fresh cooked potato’s, sweet potato’s, chips, rice crispie treats, coconut water. And that wasn’t even half of what was there!! End of race food: veggie burrito with salsa and chips, pizza and a bbq. Guava drink and NA beer. Thank you to all the volunteers!

@gradientdescentgirl - Now let’s talk nutrition. Yes, seriously: 60 grams of carbs per hour. But those carbs can look very different. Marin Century is amazing because it turns the whole ride into a real feast, with incredible local food along the way. Honestly, that’s one of the main reasons I do rides like this :-) And the people, of course!

@carolinedaher - Marin Century 2026, you delivered. Rolling through Marin meant breathtaking views, blazing sunshine… and the unforgettable aroma of farm life. Cows, chickens, fresh cheese, and yes… plenty of authentic countryside perfume. But every mile was absolutely worth it. The event was exceptionally well organized. The rest stops were fully stocked with delicious food, the volunteers were amazing, and one detail deserves a special shoutout: women-only restrooms. Ladies who ride know how much that matters. To top it all off, I finished with my fastest 100K ever. Huge congratulations to everyone who made this event possible. It was my first experience out there but I’ll definitely be back! Couldn’t have done it without my dream team. Thank you!

@dolanlawfirm What a day at Marin Century 2026. For the ninth consecutive year, we were proud to support @marincyclists and spend the day alongside the riders, volunteers and community partners who make this event so special. Thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth, and to @marincyclists for bringing the Bay Area cycling community together once again.

@sarah.aud_rey That’s a wrap on the Marin Century! Solo century ride, but could not have felt more supported by my girl @roseee_elll —thank you for housing & feeding me, being my hairdresser, roadside glove support ??, and having a drink to crack right at the finish line for me. Thanks @marincyclists for the delicious food, beautiful well-marked route, and live music It got hot out there & that last hill at mile 93 was brutal, but the vibes never stopped! Not a bad way to spend a Saturday.
