2026 Otztaler Radmarathon Results: Burke and Meyer dominate the high-alpine classic
The 2026 edition of the Otztaler Radmarathon delivered another dramatic day in the Tyrolean Alps, with Jack Burke and Janine Meyer emerging as the strongest riders on a course that continues to define Europe’s toughest amateur cycling challenge.

Starting and finishing in Sölden, participants faced the event’s legendary 227-kilometre route, climbing more than 5,500 metres over four major passes: Kühtai, Brenner, Jaufenpass, and the iconic Timmelsjoch. Warm conditions in the valleys and cool air at altitude created a demanding mix that split the field early and rewarded riders able to sustain high power across multiple long climbs.
Burke claims another Ötztaler triumph
Canada’s Jack Burke delivered a commanding ride to secure the men’s victory, stopping the clock at 6:29:21.2. His pace on the final ascent of the Timmelsjoch proved decisive, allowing him to distance last year’s winner Daniel Federspiel and set the fastest time of the day.
Federspiel, representing Austria, crossed the line 2:35.9 behind Burke, while fellow Austrian Miguel Brugger completed the podium at +4:36.0. All three riders maintained speeds above 34 km/h on a course renowned for its difficulty.
Meyer extends her legacy in the women’s race
In the women’s field, Germany’s Janine Meyer once again demonstrated her mastery of high-mountain endurance racing. Meyer finished in 7:15:46.2, opening a significant gap on her rivals and adding another major victory to her record.
Her compatriot Eva Schien secured second place, finishing 12:24.1 behind, while Austria’s Melanie Geiger took third at +29:47.4. Meyer’s consistency across all four climbs proved unmatched, giving her a clear margin of victory.
A global field and rising women’s participation
The 2026 event attracted thousands of riders from around the world, continuing the Ötztaler’s reputation as one of the most prestigious and demanding Granfondos in Europe. Participation among women reached a new high, reflecting the growing depth and competitiveness of the female amateur cycling scene.
