2026 L'Etape Slovenia Results: Yellow Jerseys Shine at Record-Breaking Edition
Slovenia, Kranj, 5–6 September 2026.The fifth edition of Merkur zavarovalnica L'Etape Slovenia by Tour de France delivered a memorable day of cycling, as a record 1,600 riders from 31 countries lined up in Kranj to experience the atmosphere of the world's most iconic cycling race.

The sold-out event once again featured two routes: the demanding Tosidos the Race (130 km) and the shorter but highly competitive Decathlon the Ride (80 km). Riders from across Europe, Asia, Africa, North and South America, and Oceania tackled a course that combined fast roads, challenging climbs and the unique spirit of the Tour de France.

Gateway to L'Etape du Tour
Beyond the jerseys, competitors on the longer route raced for a unique reward. Through the official L'Etape Series Reward Programme, the top three women and men in the overall classification earned an invitation to L'Etape du Tour 2027, the world-renowned amateur event held on an official Tour de France stage.
Mohoric Leads the Celebration
Five-time event ambassador Matej Mohoric (Bahrain Victorious) once again rode alongside participants and played a central role throughout the weekend.
"Although this is already my fifth year as event ambassador, this edition felt particularly special. The course suits a wide range of cyclists, the atmosphere was fantastic, and thousands of spectators created an unforgettable experience. Congratulations to all participants and, of course, to the winners," said Mohoric.

A Two-Day Festival Inspired by the Tour de France
While Sunday's races formed the sporting highlight of the weekend, the festival programme offered much more. More than 30 exhibitors animated the event village, while ambassador Matej Mohoric and official Tour de France mascot Didi spent both days among participants and visitors.
Poor weather forced organisers to shorten Saturday's programme, with the Family Ride cancelled and the Future Heroes children's races moved to Sunday. Nevertheless, the popular K0.0lesari na polno! hill-climb challenge was successfully held, while 250 young cyclists took part in the Future Heroes rides on Sunday morning, each receiving a commemorative finisher medal.
Thousands of spectators along the route and at the finish area in Kranj helped recreate the atmosphere of a genuine Tour de France stage, further strengthening L'Etape Slovenia's reputation as one of the region's leading amateur cycling events.

While the yellow jerseys and Tour de France classifications reward sporting excellence, L'Etape Slovenia is about much more than competition. The event brings together cyclists, families, friends and supporters, united by a shared passion for the sport and the unique experiences it creates.
Among the festival's most inspiring moments are the Future Heroes children's rides, where the youngest participants discover the joy of cycling and the values of an active lifestyle. By combining sport, community and the spirit of the Tour de France, L'Etape Slovenia continues to grow beyond a race into a celebration of cycling for all generations.
