2026 Mammoth Gran Fondo Results: Michelle Beltran and Lance Haidet Fastest
Around 1,000 cyclists and their families ascended to Mammoth Mountain for the 2026 Mammoth Gran Fondo, a premier high-alpine road cycling event in California’s Eastern Sierra. Riders enjoyed quiet mountain roads, sweeping Sierra vistas, and a professionally supported course that delivered a full weekend of riding and celebration.
Around 1,000 cyclists and their families ascended to Mammoth Mountain for the 2026 Mammoth Gran Fondo, a premier high-alpine road cycling event in California’s Eastern Sierra. Riders enjoyed quiet mountain roads, sweeping Sierra vistas, and a professionally supported course that delivered a full weekend of riding and celebration.
Approximately 75 miles of the Gran Fondo route were closed to through traffic, creating long, uninterrupted stretches of smooth, fast riding. All distances — 42, 70, and 102 miles — featured timed segments, full SAG support, and well-stocked aid stations. The day concluded with a post-event celebration in The Village at Mammoth, complete with food, beer, a vendor expo, and live entertainment.
In the 102-mile Gran Fondo,
Lance Haidet set the fastest men’s time in 04:21:36, narrowly beating Ethan Puente and Jacob Stutz, who completed the top three. On the women’s side, Michelle Beltran claimed victory in 05:09:20, ahead of Sarah Lock and Rachel Banks.
A major storyline came from the KOM timed climb, where former WorldTour pro Phil Gaimon delivered the fastest ascent of the entire field. His winning time of 00:04:44 put him clearly ahead of Wils Cardan and Jacob Stutz, securing the KOM title and reinforcing his reputation as one of America’s strongest uphill specialists.
The team competition also produced tight racing, with
Agoura Hills Bike Shop taking the overall win, followed by Eastside Velo and Thursdays rounding out the top three squads.
In the shorter distances, the Medio Fondo and Piccolo categories saw competitive racing across all age groups. Hugo Serra, Gabe Taylor, and Gary Taylor were the top three men in the Medio, while Kayla Davis, Caroline Britton, and Sydney Sitton led the women’s field.
In the Piccolo, Mark Donaldson, Philip MacQuitty, and Lucas Elder topped the men’s podium, with Katie Mirando, Samantha Doner, and Catherine Guentert finishing as the top three women.
