Valverde will ride both the Tour de France and the Vuelta a España
The Spaniard won the Volta a la Comunitat Valenciana on Sunday. Valverde completed a splendid week in Valencia with an impressive come back after last year's heavy Tour de France crash
The 2017 Tour de France barely lasted seven kilometers for Alejandro Valverde (Movistar Team) as fell in heavy rain during the race's opening TT in Düsseldorf, which forced him to abandon. He suffered two fractures to his left leg, one in his kneecap and another one in the talus bone.
The 2018 Tour de France will be Valverde's 11th apperance, the seventh in a row. The 37-year-old said that he aims to help teammate Nairo Quintana in the French race, amidst speculation about the hierarchy at the Spanish team.

In the Vuelta, Valverde will make his 12th appearance, having won the race in 2009 as well as securing five more podium finishes.
With four stage victories in the Tour de France and no less than nine in the Vuelta a España, Valverde will aim to add even more wins to his palmares in the 2018 editions of the two Grand Tours.
