Geriant Thomas wins Tour de Suisse as Evenepoel fastest at final Time Trial

Thomas overhauled yellow jersey wearer Sergio Higuita in the final time trial while Remco Evenepoel bounced back from a difficult week and went fastest

The Tour de Suisse ended today, Remco Evenepoel bounced back to take the final time trial after struggling in the mountains.

The race was to be decided between the final GC riders setting off the start ramp.

Geraint Thomas overhauled Sergio Higuita to win the overall classification.

Higuita lost 1m 12s to Thomas in the time trial, but held onto a second place overall, just 4s ahead of third placed Jakob Fuglsang.

Remco Evenepoel set a time of 28:26 in the 25.6-kilometer course around Vaduz, beating local Swiss favorite Stefan Küng.

Geraint Thomas put in a valiant effort and finished just three seconds behind Remco Evenepoel beating Stefan Küng.

American Quinn Simmons crossed the finish line and officially won the KOM jersey after a stellar week in the Suisse mountains.

Geraint Thomas is posed to lead INEOS Grenadiers into the Tour de France, which starts in just two weeks time on Friday July 1st.
