Wright and Seewald Take Victory at 2025 UCI Gravel Suisse

In a thrilling display of endurance and skill, Andreas Seewald and Sophie Wright emerged victorious at the UCI Gravel Suisse

Starting from the iconic UCI World Headquarters, Andreas Seewald, the 2021 UCI MTB World Champion, clinched the men’s title in a dramatic race that saw him conquer the challenging 100km course, finishing atop the renowned Col de la Croix in a time of 3:37:47. His victory not only earned him the coveted starting bib for this year’s world championships but also solidified his status as a leading contender in the gravel cycling scene.

The race unfolded under clear skies and crisp autumn air, drawing a competitive field of elite cyclists from around the globe. Seewald’s performance was nothing short of spectacular, as he surged ahead of his rivals, including Mathijs Loman of the Netherlands (SWATT CLUB) and fellow German Pierre Keup (TEAM STANDERT), who crossed the finish line six minutes later, securing second and third place respectively.

In the women’s category, 26-year-old British gravel star Sophie Wright showcased her prowess, finishing strong at 4:25:00 with a commanding seven-minute lead over her closest competitor. Wright, representing RIBBLE OUTLIERS, demonstrated exceptional strategy and stamina throughout the race. Axelle Dubau-Prevot of France (NUMERO 21 x CAFE DU CYCLISTE) claimed the second spot with a time of 4:32:15, while American cyclist Sophie Vitzthum Von Eckstaedt (COLNAGO CLUB OF ACES) rounded out the podium with a finish of 4:34:16.

“Winning the UCI Gravel Suisse is a dream come true,” said Seewald. “The course was challenging, but the atmosphere and the support from the fans pushed me to give my best. I’m excited to carry this momentum into the world championships.”

Wright echoed similar sentiments, stating, “This victory is a significant milestone for me. Competing against such talented athletes makes this win even more special. I’m looking forward to representing my country at the world championships.”
