VIDEO: Crazy Cyclist attempts to win Stage 17 of Tour de France
Stage 17 sprint finish in Valence saw French police tackle a man who jumped over the barriers on his bike and rode through the finish line, just a minute ahead of the pro race!
Exactly one week after an anti-Israel protestor ran beside stage winner Jonas Abrahamsen in the stage finale in Toulouse, another spectator tried to interupt the race, but this time on his bike.
In unbelievable pictures in front on thousands of spectators, a man in a Decathlon AG2R La Mondiale jersey, jumped over the barriers, jumped on his bike and sprinted to the finish line, a minute before the professional race was due to arrive for a serious sprint finish.
He evaded the first security man. Only to be body checked by the second policeman, who brought him crashing to the ground reeling in pain. The force of the impact saw the policeman fly up in the air and come crashing down. Thousands of spectators looked in in disbelief and were left in complete shock! The crazy cyclist looked visibly injured after hitting the second policeman.
He was dragged away from the finish line by the police and arrested on the spot. Aparrently he suffered a broken collarbone. He did in fact cross the line, so technically he won the stage, although he was probably disqualified for not riding the full 161km.
