Pogacar crushes the Vosges to tighten his grip on yellow
Tadej Pogacar delivered another commanding performance on Stage 14 of the 2026 Tour de France, powering clear on the final climb to Le Markstein and extending his overall lead to four minutes and thirty seconds over Jonas Vingegaard.
The world champion claimed his fourth stage victory of this year’s race and the 25th of his career, further cementing his dominance in the mountains.
The 155 km stage from Mulhouse to Le Markstein unfolded under relentless pressure from UAE Team Emirates-XRG, who controlled the race before unleashing Pogacar on the steep upper slopes of the Col du Haag. His late acceleration shattered the GC group and left his rivals scrambling for damage limitation.
Behind the Slovenian, Isaac del Toro continued his breakout Tour with another superb ride, taking second place ahead of Paul Seixas, who surged in the final metres to secure valuable bonus seconds. That effort moved the French teenager up to fourth overall and into the white jersey, displacing Juan Ayuso by just three seconds.
Vingegaard, unable to match Pogacar’s decisive attack, crossed the line in fourth at +44 seconds, while Olympic champion Remco Evenepoel limited losses after being distanced earlier on the Col du Haag. Evenepoel retains third place overall, though his margin over Seixas has shrunk to just 15 seconds.
The GC remains tightly packed behind the top two: only 1:20 separates Vingegaard in second from del Toro in seventh, with Florian Lipowitz and Ayuso still firmly in the fight for the podium.
