“La LIMOUSINE André DUFRAISSE has gained its popularity due to the quality of its organization but also because it takes riders through the most beautiful sites in the region”. These lines are quoted from an article that was published in the  ” Le CYCLE” magazine that placed our event in the top 50 most beautiful sportives in France and abroad. It is in the top 15 of French sportives in terms of participants (an average of 1,500 with 2,100 registering for the 20th anniversary). It has become an event that many riders place a tick next to when planning for the sportive season.

La Limousine pays tribute to a local cycling champion, André DUFRAISSE, who won five cyclo-cross rainbow jerseys and seven French national championships; one of the most impressive records in French sport. Other cycling champions have regularly taken part  in our event, either on the bike or to cheer on the riders : Raymond POULIDOR, Luc LEBLANC, Gérard SIMONOT, Maxime MEDEREL, Théo VIMPERE, David MONCOUTIE, Bernard THEVENET, Rolph WOLFSHOHL.

Riders have a choice of four circuits, all of which start from the centre of Limoges, and which gives riders the unforgettable experience of a mass start from a city centre.

La PANAZOLAISE (68 km /990m of climbing)
La HAUT VIENNOISE (126km/2060m of climbing) at a leisurely speed or timed.
La LIMOUSINE (160km/2660m of climbing.)  at a leisurely speed or timed.
A new event for 2022 is the LIMOUSINE CHALLENGE (200km with 2720m of climbing), an un-timed event with no placings that can be ridden at your own pace whilst enjoying the beautiful local scenery, especially around the Lac de Saint Pardoux..

The LIMOUSINE CHALLENGE is the perfect circuit to discover the hills and valleys of the Limousin whilst at the same time honing your fitness for the summer rides !

Limoges is easy to travel to, be it by train to the famous Bénédictins station or by plane to Limoges-Bellegarde international airport with direct flights from London (Stanstead), Liverpool, Manchester, Leeds and Bristol. For those travelling by car, Limoges is on the A20 motorway and the finish and event village in Panazol is only four kilometres from the centre of Limoges.

Special rates can be offered to groups and clubs. Upon request, we can also help organize your stay in the Limousin and offer you circuits to reconnoiter parts of the route and also places to visit.
