Distances: 210 km
Limited to: 120 Participants

It's best out west, as you head from Wobbly Worcestershire, through the badlands of The Marches and across the famous Offa's Dyke into the heart of Wales.

Beyond the Dyke was chosen via a poll of our 2022 autumn audaxers, probably because it is best out west.  With varied countryside, the is a route to savour including the open Marches, deep valley clefts to the west of Knighton. The route passes underneath the magnificent castellated viaduct at Knucklas. Control locations at Craven Arms and sleepy Presteigne have a choice of cafes.  E brevet will be available.  Hot food and showers at the finish.

Distance 210km

Climbing 2340 m

Audax Altitude Award Points 1.75

Controls: Craven Arms & Presteigne. Plus three information controls at Cleobury North, Dolau, Shelsey Beauchamp

If you have not guessed already, this route goes crosses Offa's Dyke near Knighton and into Wales.

No expensive fees, no headline sponsors, no goodie bags, no numbers, no gold standard times, no broom wagons and no pretending at the finish to have looked into the jaws of hell and survived.

Beyond the Dyke is cycling at its best. It’s about a good distance in a day, riding at a sensible pace with good company, travelling through quiet and pleasant countryside in the orange glow of an autumn day before winter arrives.

Soak in the autumnal colours of  The Marches. The ‘free-controls’ are located in three cafe rich and cake laden market-towns with plenty of opportunities to share a coffee with fellow audaxers.

Dusk will be at 18:30 and it is always a great idea to carry lights just in case of delay.

The E-brevet app will be available for riders wishing to register their audax electronically.
