The reception village is located at the Lac Kruth–Wildenstein. The start and finish point will be grandiose and unique in France.

Some passes are closed to traffic. The courses are totally new, with in particular a future final stage of the Tour de France categorised as HC (Hors Catégorie), with the biggest total climb in the Vosges.
