KowTown Gravel is a true Colorado gravel classic — a high-altitude, high-energy ride through the remote ranchlands and rolling mountains of Kremmling, Colorado. With wide-open skies, panoramic alpine views, and a strong community vibe, this event blends challenging routes with small-town Western hospitality, making it one of the most rewarding grassroots gravel experiences in the Rockies.

Riders can choose from three distinct course options that suit a range of ability levels and racing goals. The Bull Course (90 miles) is the ultimate endurance challenge, featuring long climbs, exposed gravel flats, and technical descents. The Cow Course (65 miles) delivers a perfect mix of grit and flow — ideal for intermediate riders who want a full-day adventure. The Calf Course (34 miles) offers a fun, scenic route with rolling elevation, making it perfect for first-timers, casual riders, or those just looking to cruise Colorado’s big sky gravel.

All routes roll out from Kremmling Town Square and showcase the beauty of the high country — a rugged, wild region where gravel roads stretch for miles and traffic is almost nonexistent. Riders will traverse a combination of hard-packed gravel, doubletrack, and punchy climbs, all while soaking in the crisp mountain air and endless vistas. Strategic aid stations along each route ensure that riders stay fueled and hydrated, while on-course support and signage keep navigation smooth and stress-free.

But the experience doesn’t end at the finish line. After the ride, the whole town of Kremmling comes alive with post-race festivities in the square, featuring local food trucks, live music, craft beer, and a family-friendly community expo. Participants receive meal and beer tickets, plus access to free showers and bike wash at West Grand High School. Camping is available, and the night before the race, a community spaghetti dinner kicks off the weekend in classic, cozy gravel style.

Whether you’re chasing watts, climbing for the view, or just coming for the afterparty, KowTown Gravel delivers everything you’d want in a gravel event: grit, soul, scenery, and stoke. It’s not just a race — it’s a celebration of gravel culture, Colorado-style.
