The start of the Marathon degli Stazzi 2025 will take place in Piazza Santa Maria della Valle from which you will reach the Frattura crossroads. Here you take the long climb of Mount Genzana, paved for the first 6 km (up to the hamlet of Frattura), then dirt and extremely panoramic (breathtaking view of Lake Scanno and the mountains of the National Park of Abruzzo, Lazio and Molise). At the 15th km, in the locality of "Stazzo dei Piselli" (1770 m.a.s.l.), there is the first refreshment point while with another km of ascent you will reach the Valico del Monte Genzana which with its 1817 meters is the highest point of the route as well as G.P.M.. A fast dirt descent will lead the athletes to the wonderful plateau located in the heart of the "Chiarano-Sparvera" reserve. At the 25th km begins the climb of the "Curio" which culminates at 1680 meters of the pass of the same name (we are at the 27th km). Then down, headlong, towards Jovana, along the impervious Valle Cupa. All to be driven the initial single track and an intoxicating mule track. In Jovana (1262 m., 30° km) a new climb begins along which (after half a km) you can refresh yourself in the second refreshment point. At the 33rd km there is the crossroads long route/short route: the athletes involved in the 64 km will continue straight to reach the Mimola plateau and face the subsequent single track climb of the "Lama di Bocca Pantano" (sections at 25% gradient). You will then reach the Passo Godi plateau, treacherous due to the grassy ground but inserted in a unique environmental context! After passing the plateau you will enter the National Park of Abruzzo, Lazio and Molise, facing a stretch of dirt road through which you will reach yet another "stazzo", that of Ziomas (43° km, 1583 m.) where the third refreshment point is located, as per tradition. After a further climb, you dive into the fast descent of the Tasso, including the now famous single track section with parabolic curves. In the locality of "Le Prata" (49° km, 1221 meters) there is the novelty of this year: the bikers will in fact face the hard climb of "Le Refuijete", 3 km long for 270 meters of positive elevation gain (watch out for the ramps with gradients close to 20%!), up to 1500 meters above sea level of the ruins of the "Casa del Monte". Here a long single track first in the valley, then downhill (partly along the ski slope called "Il Pistone") will lead the athletes in a first city passage in Scanno, near the departure station of the Collerotondo chairlift. Here you will return to face a new, short climb (2 km and 200 meters d+), the one that leads to the Valle Selvuna pass (1240 meters), preceded by the 4th refreshment point (located 3/4 uphill). After that, the fantastic descent on single track begins to the shores of Lake Scanno (59° km, 930 m.). The last 5 km of the route are along the road that runs along the lake and goes up to the village. The asphalt is interrupted by two single tracks that run along the Tasso river. The last few hundred meters in the heart of the historic center of Scanno, one of the "Most Beautiful Villages in Italy".
