Get ready to ride through history! The Genworth CareScout Cap2Cap presented by Dominion Energy is celebrating its 21st anniversary on May 8th and 9th, offering an unforgettable experience filled with history, community, and adventure. For over two decades, this beloved event has brought outdoor enthusiasts together to experience the scenic Virginia Capital Trail, a paved pathway stretching from Williamsburg to Richmond, taking cyclists on a journey through 400 years of Virginia history.

Whether you’re a seasoned cyclist or gearing up for your first Cap2Cap, this family-friendly event welcomes all skill levels with multiple distances ranging from 7 to 100+ miles. Riders will enjoy a fully supported paved course, fully stocked rest stops to refuel, and an open-start format for a flexible and stress-free experience. Additional perks include bike tech support, restrooms along the route, team competitions with prizes, party zones, and miles of scenic views.

Participants will be treated to a unique VIP experience at the 21st ride celebration at Chickahominy Riverfront Park in James City County on Friday, May 8, and Dorey Park in Henrico County on Saturday, May 9. Festivities include a lively party zone with music, a vendor fair with local artisans, food trucks, activities, and the best cycling community around. Riders will receive an event shirt, a tasty lunch and beverage ticket, and an exclusive 21st-anniversary Cap2Cap gift bag.

New this year, riders can look forward to a commemorative cycling jersey and tech tee (this year's design is a visual VA250 tribute to the rich, storied landscape that lines the Virginia Capital Trail). Returning favorites include specialty rest stops featuring Ukrop's cookies, Pickle Juice, and Breez-In potato wedges, group camping at Chickahominy Riverfront Park, the two-day challenge, and a shuttle option for half-century riders. Participants can choose from various ride segments, including the Century, Meta Half Century, Allianz Quarter Century, Family Fun Ride, 2-Day Challenge, or a CSX virtual ride option.

Proceeds support the work of the Virginia Capital Trail Foundation to protect, enhance, and grow the Virginia Capital Trail. Join your community in cycling and celebrating an incredible outdoor resource, the Virginia Capital Trail!
