The North Shore Century offers incredibly scenic biking. You'll experience luxurious neighborhoods, view unique architectural treasures, pedal down tranquil tree-lined streets and feel the refreshing breezes of Lake Michigan. Open it up in the flat to rolling countryside between Chicago and Wisconsin. Join us on Sunday, September 15, 2024 when the Evanston Bike Club hosts one of Chicagoland's premiere gran fondo rides - the North Shore Century. Hundreds of riders make the North Shore Century their last - maybe their best - ride of the summer. You can, too.

CHOOSE THE RIDE THAT'S RIGHT FOR YOU

We offer a variety of well-mapped and well-marked rides for biking enthusiasts of all ages and abilities. Cue sheets, painted street markers and GPS guide you.  

THE CLASSIC CENTURY This 100-mile ride is what the North Shore Century is famous for, starting in Evanston and stretching into Pleasent Prairie, Wisconsin. Before you head back, you'll cycle through some of the most elegant communities in Illinois.
 
THE METRIC CENTURY This 62 miler winds its way through quiet suburban streets and picturesque towns and villages, past handsome homes, parks and lovely village greens.

THE HALF CENTURY  This 50-mile ride goes to beautiful Lake Bluff before your journey takes you back towards Evanston, riding past mansions on Sheridan Road.

THE QUARTER CENTURY A wonderful 25-mile ride for those of you who want a leisurely day out on your bike and an opportunity to see some of the most architecturally impressive homes around. Perfect for families!

The Evanston Bicycle Club’s North Shore Century offers incredibly scenic biking on routes of 25, 50, 62, and 100 miles. You'll experience beautiful neighborhoods, view unique architectural treasures, pedal down tranquil tree-lined streets and feel the refreshing breezes of Lake Michigan.  There are frequent rest stops stocked with home-baked goodies. Sags and bike mechanics are provided. 

Registration Fees

Online only registration is $40 for adults and $10 for kids 17 and under.  However, the adult fee goes up to $50 on September 2 and is $60 if you register the day of the ride.  (The children’s fee will stay the same.)  So sign up as soon as you can!   Commemorative T-shirts available!

Included

There are frequent rest stops stocked with popular goodies. Sags and bike mechanics are provided. Certificates of completion available at the finish.
