he Ride for a Reason is for experienced cyclists. It’s a challenging 165 km from Centennial Park to Bowral, via the spectacular 11 km climb of Macquarie Pass. Participation in the Ride is not limited to Sydney CC members with over 100 cyclists from clubs all over Sydney taking on the challenge every year.

Despite its challenging nature, the Ride is a safe and enjoyable event. It’s organised by volunteer members of SCC with support cars for each bunch as well as mechanical and medical support throughout the Ride. At the finish, Bowral’s Lions Club rewards everyone with a tasty BBQ at Bradman Oval.

There are usually six bunches of riders graded according to ability. The fastest bunch departs first from Centennial Park at 6.00 am; there are a number of refreshment stops along the way and most bunches reach Bowral by 2 pm to enjoy the annual Tulip Time Parade and other  festivities.
