The Bostin' Peak Sportive is the original Bostin' cycling event and was featured on the 2016 Channel 5 celebrity cycling TV programme, "Tour de Celeb".

The 2019 running of the event sees us satisfy previous requests from riders as we have now extended the long route over the magical 100 miles in distance with the incorporation of a new interesting section of road.

The Bostin' Peaks Sportive, based at Uttoxeter Racecourse, continues to attract riders from all over the country who enjoy a choice of three fully signposted challenging routes amongst the picturesque scenery of Staffordshire and Derbyshire as well as crossing over in to the Peak District National Park for the longer rides.

All three routes head initially East along the edge of the River Dove, through picturesque Marchington and onwards passed the Castle at Tutbury. The reasonably flat route, so far, begins to climb along a new section of route, for 2018, past Sutton on the Hill and Rodsley before arriving at Wyaston, the first feed station on this years routes.

The riders on the Bronze route turn left out of the feed station, whilst the Gold and Silver routes head North, ride over the highest point on their route before and dropping down through quiet country lanes over the Ashbourne Road towards Rocester and the very impressive JC Bamford Engineering's (better known as JCB's) World Headquarters, lake and stock-piles or iconic yellow diggers! The route continues through picturesque hamlets and small villages, along rolling country lanes, before returning to the finish line at Uttoxeter Racecourse from the West.

The Silver and Gold riders exit the first feed station and continue to head north eventually climbing above and around Carsington Water Reservoir to see its magnificent views. Then onwards to visit the wind turbines along the highest spot of the Silver route and the glorious views off the edge as they cycle on towards Longcliffe - where the Gold and Silver routes divide.

The Silver route turns left and enjoys a pleasurable long descent before crossing a ford (we recommend the bridge!) and riding over Wibben Hill, through roaming farm animals, and on to the picture-postcode village of Tissington.

The Gold route continues North into the upland countryside of the Peak District. Riding through Elton, past Robin Hood's Stride, and on to Youlgreave before dropping on to the Long Rake, with glorious views, and forward to our water station at Parsley Hay, After a brief respite the climbing begins again through Lognor and on to the highest summit of the route at Merryton Low before riding along the escarpment with stunning views to the right of the town of Leek, Rudyard Lake and Tittesworth Reservoir. The new 2019 route then takes riders through the villages of Warslow and through the interesting tunnel at Swainsley before descending down into the Manifold Valley and on to the attractive Ilam and Thorpe.

The Gold route then rejoins with the Silver route and they both become reunited with the River Dove at Mapleton, cross the parkland at Okeover Hall - and yet more roaming animals - before making there way to the last feed station at Mayfield. Then, suitably refreshed, both routes head South to Rocester where they join the Bronze route back to the finish line.

Not the easiest of days but, according to our entrants who come back year after year, well worth it!
