Remco Evenepoel will debut his rainbow jersey in ITT at the 2026 Volta a la Comunitat Valenciana

So much so that the three-time World Champion (2023, 2024, 2025) Remco Evenepoel has confirmed that the first individual time trial he will compete in with the rainbow jersey will be the Valencian race. The VCV has received confirmation from the Belgian rider with his new Red Bull Bora Hansgrohe line-up. Without a doubt, the possibility of testing new equipment in the race and facing rivals with the tension of competition invites the participation of the best specialists.

Remco Evenepoel participated in the VCV in the 2022 edition and was the leader of the Vuelta with the yellow jersey. In that case his team was Quick-Step, although he finally finished second in the race.

The timed stage of the VCV will be held on the second day and will be between 15 and 20 kilometers long. The sports director of the VCV, Paco Benítez, anticipates that "the stage will be technical and with a slope of about 3 kilometers and will allow the cyclists to make the difference".

February 4, 2026 - 1ST STAGE: SEGORBE – TORREBLANACA (160 KM)

A route through the province of Castellón, a stage destined for a sprint finish, the breakaways could encourage it with a very uncomfortable section of slopes halfway through the route. A nervous finish with the unprecedented climb to the top of Los Madroños and the always difficult slopes of Oropesa, the sprinters will have to push to be able to reach and dispute the beautiful finish of Torreblanca.

February 5, 2026 - 2ND STAGE (ITT): CARLET – ALGINET (17.5 KM)

After a few years, we recover the individual time trial, a very technical route in the first part, with a 3 km slope with 8 km to go with a fast descent to Alginet. Opportunity for the specialists and strong men of the general classification who could get a good advantage from the climbers. This time trial could be decisive in the final outcome of the race.

February 6, 2026 - 3RD STAGE: ORIHUELA – SANT VICENT DEL RASPEIG (158 KM)

Clearly defined route in two parts, the first 100 km totally flat ideal for breakaways, with two climbs in the last 50 km, the leader's team should control to take a comfortable stage, if there is not much battle in the Tibi pass from Cat-2 to 35 km from the finish the sprinters could have another chance.

February 7, 2026 - 4TH STAGE: LA NUCIA – TEULADA (172 KM)

Queen stage, five mountain passes and 3,300 m of accumulated elevation gain, with the terrifying climb of the Miserat of Cat-1 category 100 km from the finish, it will be a question of whether he will be able to break the race or not. In the final part, the climb to Cumbres del Sol should be decisive with only 12 km to go, which will be encouraged by the climb to the Muro del Pou with slopes of almost 22% 5 km from the finish in Teulada.

It could be the most beautiful stage in recent years.

February 8, 2026 - 5TH STAGE: BÉTERA – VALENCIA (93 KM)

New in the 5th stage with the climb of the Garbí pass with 40 km to go, a route in which anything can happen, from a sprint finish if there is not much battle or that the Garbí breaks the race and a group competes for the race. We will see how the race comes from defined to this day to know if the leader can withstand all the attacks with any possible change in the general classification. This last stage never disappoints, the excitement is guaranteed to meet the winner of this edition of the VCV2026.
