Distances: 70 miles
Difficulty: Moderate terrain with rolling short steep hills or moderate, sustained climbs

Bleeding Kansas Gravelduro, pays homage to our roots and celebrates our past while adding some variety to our new found fame in the gravel bike racing scene. KANSAS!  Let’s face it we don’t have big never-ending descents here in the Midwest. We are still however AWESOME, and like other more terrain endowed AWESOME people, we too enjoy testing our handling at speed on loose gravely goodness.

Who doesn't eagerly await the atmosphere and camaraderie of our local weekly gravel ride?  The kinds of days where we all slug it out up the hills together, encouraging each other to push just a little harder, while relishing in the sweet quick moments of recovery and care free down hill bliss, only to prepare to do it all again, and again, and again.

The course is nothing to scoff at, 65-70 miles of central Flint Hills best gravel roads and 5,000+ feet of decent….. and gain.

Bleeding Kansas isn’t about crushing your will to continue, it’s about challenging your endurance, taking calculated risks, keeping it rubber side down and feeding your passion to crush gravel all day long with people who look at the world in a similar joyful way.

We’ve linked together some of our favorite meandering gravel roads in the heart of the last tracts (only 4% remain) of the Tallgrass Prairie in the world. The course previews a mix of surfaces (smooth pavement, gravel and hard-packed dirt).  Short steep climbs followed by long multi mile descent, make for an event with an elevation profile that will give you something to brag about.
