Gran Fondo Matildica will now serve as the first event for amateur cyclists to qualify for the 2025 Gran Fondo World Championships scheduled in Lorne, Australia. Riders finishing in the top 25% of their age/category automatically qualify to participate in the world championships.

The race starts and finishes in the historic center of Reggio Emilia, surrounded by ancient walls and buildings from the 16th–17th centuries. Although the event starts on flat terrain, the course starts climbing quickly. 

The Granfondo race is valid for the UCI GRAN FONDO WORLD SERIES stage for Men and Women' categories 19-49 (19 – 34; 35 – 39; 40 – 44; 45 – 49)

The Mediofondo race is valid for the UCI GRAN FONDO WORLD SERIES stage for Men and Women’ categories 50+ (50 – 54; 55 – 59; 60 – 64; 65 – 69; 70 – 74; 75+)

The event is capped at 3000 competitors and is expected to sell-out.

Start Times / Itinerary

Departure: 7.30 Corso Garibaldi, Reggio Emilia. From there you will cross the municipalities of Albinea, Quattro Castella, San Polo d'Enza, Canossa, Vetto, Ventasso and Castelnovo né Monti before returning to Reggio Emilia.

To be defined. Approximately from 35 to 55 euros.
