Embark on Jalisco’s longest endurance challenge — the Plan de Barrancas Route, a 217 km journey through the beating heart of Tequila country. Though it features just one Category 2 climb, this route demands stamina, strategy, and spirit as it unfolds across rolling agave fields, colonial towns, and open highland roads.
The ride begins in Guadalajara, heading along the old highway toward Amatitán, Magdalena, and the iconic Pueblo Mágico of Tequila — birthplace of Mexico’s most celebrated spirit. From there, the road stretches toward Plan de Barrancas, a historic town established in the late 19th century after a devastating earthquake reshaped the region in 1875. Today, it remains a quiet agricultural settlement surrounded by dramatic landscapes and deep cultural roots.
The return journey retraces the route, leading to the day’s only major ascent — a 16.7 km Category 2 climb that rewards perseverance with sweeping views of the agave valley.

Plan de Barrancas — a long ride through history, endurance, and the timeless beauty of Jalisco’s agave lands.
