The Oregon Coast Gravel Epic is a Gravel Grinder consisting of 65% pure logging roads that are unpaved and the other 35% smooth pavement left over from decades of active logging that still exists to this day.
This endurance event showcases the raw beauty of the ancient Siuslaw National Forests and some of its seriously stout hills. At 60 miles long with 6677 ft of climbing, the Abomination route more than lives up to its name and will take 3.5-7 hours for most.
The New Uncle Abomination 49 miles and 5800 ft is a twist to give those who have done the shorter version a bit more, or on a day that is less than ideal, a good place to cut the course for a quicker return trip. This is your wild and crazy uncle, and you have been warned. LOL
The Son of Abomination is shorter at 37 miles; it is still physically demanding with 3,740 ft of climbing and 3-4 hrs of riding, and just as amazing without quite as many hills with smiles to last all season.
This event is being produced in cooperation with the communities of Waldport and Yachats on the central Oregon Coast and with the support of Oregon Coast Bank since 2013.
