22 teams will take start the 111st edition of Paris-Tours on Sunday October 8th in Brou, just outside of Paris.

It is known as a "Sprinters' Classic" because it frequently ends in a bunch sprint at the finish, in Tours. This French Classic is no longer part of the WorldTour but remains prestigious race battled over the flatlands of France before heading into Tours for the final sprint on the Avenue de Grammont.

Strong winds could hamper the race causing splits, echelons and desperate attempts to remain in contention.

The year's route from Brou to Tours is 234 km long. Brou is 129 km west of Paris.

Recent previous winners include Philippe Gilbert, Greg Van Avermaet, John Degenkolb, Matteo Trentin and Fernando Gaviria.
