Gran Fondo Madeira Island

May 25, 2025 - Madeira Portugal

After the success of the first edition of the event, the Granfondo Madeira Island is back, which will have its second edition on May 24, 2020 . With 140 participants in the first edition, the organization provided everyone with a great sporting and touristic experience where one of the main purposes was to show the beauty and capabilities of the Autonomous Region of Madeira for cycling.

Many images that speak for themselves were recorded in the memory of all who ventured and challenged the course of the event.

Organized by the Cycling section of Club Sport Marítimo, Granfondo Madeira Island aims to link sport, gastronomy and nature and bring all the participants a taste of the history of Madeira Island. All participants will be presented with a bus tour of the North Coast of our island where they will visit the São Vicente Caves and also the Calamar Natural Pool.

Regional products will be part of a range of offers that will be delivered to participants through our already famous kit. It is our wish that families accompany the participants and see the best that our Madeira Island has to offer.

The North Coast of Madeira Island has the ability to surprise us with every ride with magnificent views where the sea and the mountains are always present in a breathtaking combination. The tunnels are part of the daily life of the Region, many of them carved in the rock will be a constant throughout the event. We will travel through four municipalities to the north and west of the island starting and ending in the magnificent Vila de São Vicente.

“No obstacle will be great if the will to win is greater”.
