GFNY Announces 2026 Road to NYC Season

Global competitive calendar reinforces Road to NYC structure and Pro Series development

GFNY Announces 2026 Road to NYC Season

GFNY has announced its 2026 season, reinforcing the structure of the GFNY Road to NYC, the competitive pathway connecting races worldwide with the Michelob ULTRA GFNY World Championship NYC.

Founded in 2011 in New York City, GFNY has operated continuously for more than a decade, building a globally consistent race structure across multiple continents. All GFNY events operate under uniform race standards, allowing results to remain comparable across countries and seasons.

The Road to NYC connects GFNY races through a defined competitive hierarchy. Selected events hold National and Continental Championship status, forming a progression that leads to the GFNY World Championship New York City on May 17, 2026.

GFNY operates its own integrated registration, results, and ranking system, maintaining direct relationships with participants across all events. This continuity ensures that rider performance and history remain part of a single global framework.

All GFNY races feature mass starts, individual chip timing from start to finish, ranked results, and age-group podiums. The structure is designed so that results matter beyond a single race day.

GFNY Pro Series

The 2026 season includes the continued development of the GFNY Pro Series, GFNY’s professional racing structure built around pros and amateurs racing together.

Gran Premio New York City will return as a UCI-sanctioned professional road race held on the same course and on the same day as the Michelob Ultra GFNY World Championship NYC, with the professional field starting approximately ten minutes ahead of the mass-participation race. The two competitions are conducted separately under their respective regulations while sharing the same roads and infrastructure.

Gran Premio Cozumel is scheduled to take place in conjunction with GFNY Cozumel, pending UCI approval. The Pro Series leverages existing race infrastructure to host professional competition alongside mass participation in locations where local conditions support sustainable professional racing.

GFNY Global Rankings

GFNY Global Rankings continue in 2026, providing overall and age-group standings based on finish placements across GFNY events worldwide. The ranking system reinforces the competitive structure of the Road to NYC and offers standardized comparison across countries and seasons.

GFNY is built around competitive structure and continuity,” said Uli Fluhme, co-founder and CEO of GFNY. “The Road to NYC connects races into a clear progression, while the Pro Series demonstrates how professional racing can exist alongside mass participation without compromising either. In practice, both formats strengthen each other.”
