Seeger and Jordan take overall Victory at Largest Gran Fondo Florida

Cyclists from all over Florida and the USA enjoyed incredible weather in Dade City, the opening round of the 2026 SENA Gran Fondo National Series, which culminates in the 2026 USA Cycling Gran Fondo Championships in Maryland this September.

Dade City Brewery and Uncle Fatty’s on 7th Street became the Cycling Festival's focal point for Sunny Vibes and Good Times in downtown Dade City. Riders enjoyed one of three courses with the competitive element taking place on the timed sections throughout the course.

The GFNS crew along with Dade City Police and EMS, did an excellent job in keeping riders safe, well fed and hydrated with temperatures reaching the late 80's in the beautiful sunshine.

In the men's 98 mile Gran Fondo, 44 year-old Justin Jordan from Winter Park, FL was fastest over the four timed sections with a combined time of 39:44 ahead of Ken Vida from Lithia FL 6 seconds behind in second and Douglas Pomeranz from Rancho Santa Fe CA 22 seconds behind in third place.

In the women's Gran Fondo, 48 year-old Jeanine Seeger from Boynton Beach FL was the clear winner in 40:17 ahead of Kate Stratman from Miami FL 1m 4s behind in second and Jessica Rocheleau from Melbourne FL in third place 3m 31 behind.

All three men and women overall were awarded the latest SENA cycling helmet with a custom GFNS 2026 Series Wrap by Birdworks.

Overall men’s winner, 44 year-old Justin Jordan from Winter Park, FL commented afterwards, “Being fastest overall in the men’s race was satisfying but winning the custom SENA wrapped cycling helmet by Birdworks on top of the medal and winner’s jersey was an incredible bonus, can’t wait to get out there wearing it.”

All three men and women overall were awarded the latest SENA cycling helmet with a custom GFNS 2026 Series Wrap by Birdworks.

Chuck Violand from Tampa FL was fastest over the 3 timed sections on the 69-mile Medio Route in 34:43.71, ahead of Richard Ferraro of team UNDRBDR and Ewandro Reis. In the women's Medio race, 33 year-old Jessica Pessoa from Land O Lakes FL was fastest in 35:35.5 ahead of Elizabeth Engler and Jamie Rothaug.

In the 35-mile men's Piccolo Fondo, 60 yeaqr-old Matt Garni from Plymouth was fastest on the one timed section in 16:51.68 ahead of Kenny Grantham and  Evandro Teixeira de Siqueira. In the women's race 41 year-old Megan Sanders from Wesley Chapel FL was fastest in 19:16.54 ahead of Robin Pomeranz and Katie Murphy.

The men's U23 race was very close with 22 year-old Natan Kadoch from Miami FL fastest in 40:34.59 ahead of Mitchell Clinard 28 seconds behind in second and Evan Merrick 45 seconds behind in third place.

As U23 winner Nathan Kadoch was presented with a full Shimano Di2 Ultegra Group Set. Nathan said afterwards, "not only did I enjoy a fantastic day on the bike racing with other junior riders in perfect weather, coming away with winning the Shimano Group Set in front of my Miami teammates was the icing on the cake. I can't think of a better to start the 2026 season. This is the first of 14 Shimano Ultegra groupset which will be awarded to U23 Male & Female Gran Route winners at each Series event for the 2026 season. Tell your U23 riders to get out there!

Afterwards riders enjoyed cold beers at Dade City Brewery and food from Uncle Fatty’s overlooking the finish line as series director Reuben Kline announced the overall and category awards, plus the famous raffle prizes that had participants doing press ups for amazing swag from the series incredible sponsors including SENA, Shimano, EKOI Sunglasses, BMC, Wahoo, Cane Creek, Hammer Nutrition and Jittery Joes coffee to name a few.

Register NOW for 2026 Gran Fondo Georgia

The series continues with Gran Fondo Georgia, in Helen on April 19th, 2026. The event offers three routes feature steep and challenging climbs, quiet country roads, scenic views, and thrilling descents.

The 25 mile Piccolo route contains 1,730 feet of climbing for younger, novice and beginner cyclists. The 66 mile Medio route contains 6,890 feet of climbing and is ideal for intermediate cyclists or those who are still building base endurance for the 2026 season. The 90 mile Gran route packs in 8,974 feet of climbing.

Race Director, Rueben Kline stated “A full Shimano Di2 Groupset is the overall U23 men's and women's prize at each of our series events. With no U23 women attending Florida, the opportunity for young female riders is wide open!”
