Russians Gurenkova and Pravilova take titles at 2025 UCI Antalya Gran Fondo

Russian athletes competing under the Individual Neutral Athlete (AIN) flag delivered standout performances at the UCI Gran Fondo World Championship qualifying races in Antalya, with nearly 1,000 amateur cyclists from 34 countries taking part.

Close behind, Daria Pravilova (ETALON), the 2025 UCI Gravel World Champion in the W35-39 category, was the fastest woman in the same event with a time of 2:17:16.

In the women’s 22.8 km time trial, 40-year-old Ekaterina Gurenkova (IMPULSE) claimed victory with a time of 32:08, while Turkey’s Danil Konotop took the men’s time trial in 27:45.

The Gran Fondo program in Antalya also featured strong showings across age groups. Local favorite Kamer Kanber (BOYRAZ CYCLING ACADEMY), 27, won the 59.9 km medio fondo road race in 1:36:05, delighting home fans. Veteran competitor Marina Osipova (SPARTAK TAMBOV), 58, topped the women’s medio fondo in 1:38:21. In total, about 50 Russian riders registered and competed under the AIN designation, joining a diverse international field of amateur cyclists vying for qualifying positions and championship honors.

“These results reflect the depth and determination of our athletes,” said the event organizers, “Competing under the AIN flag, riders showed focus, resilience, and top-level fitness against a highly competitive international field. Events like Antalya are vital for the amateur cycling community, providing a platform for riders of all ages to test themselves and earn places at world championship events.”

The UCI Gran Fondo World Championship qualifying races in Antalya served as a key opportunity for amateur riders to secure championship slots while experiencing challenging courses and strong competition. Organizers reported smooth logistics and enthusiastic support from local cycling clubs and volunteers, contributing to a successful event that highlighted both elite amateur performances and grassroots participation.
