Both the 77 km Mediofondo and 110 km Granfondo routes showcased the varied terrain of Fruška Gora National Park, with riders starting and finishing in Novi Sad, the city that held the title of European Capital of Culture 2022.

The men’s Granfondo delivered a fast and closely contested race. Aidar Zakarin (CYP, Tribe Cycling Club) proved the strongest in the final kilometres, taking victory in 2:43:59 at an average speed of 36.58 km/h. Serbia’s Marko Stankovic finished just 11 seconds behind after a well-timed chase, while Alexander Steffens (GER, AS Cycling Team) secured third with a consistent performance across the rolling terrain.

The women’s Granfondo featured one of the most decorated amateur riders in the world: Laura Šimenc Kramar (SLO), a four-time UCI Gran Fondo World Champion with recent wins at L’Étape Slovenia and the Istria Gran Fondo. She delivered another controlled and authoritative ride, winning in 2:53:32. Russia’s Nadezhda Pavlova finished second, and Belgium’s Lieselotte Van Nuffelen completed the podium after a steady effort on the final climbs.

The Mediofondo races were dominated by strong local performances. In the men’s event, Egon Egorov (SRB, DBB) set the fastest time of the day, completing the 77 km course in 2:03:15 at 37.48 km/h. Nemanja Trifunovic and Milan Lazic rounded out the podium, contributing to a strong showing for Serbian riders.

In the women’s Mediofondo, former UCI Hour Record holder and six-time UCI Amateur Road World Champion Molly Van Houweling (USA) delivered a commanding ride, winning in 2:26:18 at 31.57 km/h. Hungary’s Viktória Káliné Székely finished second, while Belgium’s Els Bourgonjon secured third.

With its growing international field, competitive racing, and scenic routes through Fruška Gora, Gran Fondo Novi Sad continues to establish itself as a well-organised and increasingly important fixture on the UCI calendar.
