Karolina Migon and Fabian Rabensteiner conquer the 2026 UCI Grand Tour 3 Cime Lavaredo Gravel

The Dolomites delivered drama, altitude and pure grit as Karolina Migon and Fabian Rabensteiner stormed to victory at the 2026 UCI Grand Tour 3 Cime Lavaredo Gravel — a race carved straight into the UNESCO-listed landscape beneath the iconic Tre Cime towers.

The riders rolled out from Auronzo di Cadore into a course that wasted no time. The first climb to Danta di Cadore arrived almost immediately, setting the tone for a day defined by relentless elevation. The long drag to Klammbach at 1,929 metres shattered the rhythm again at kilometre 30, and just when the legs were begging for mercy, the route saved one final sting: Passo Tre Croci at the 100 km mark.

Karolina Migon was untouchable from the moment the road tilted skyward. She crested all three major climbs first, riding with the kind of authority that left no doubt who controlled the race. Behind her, UAE Team ADQ’s Erica Magnaldi fought hard but couldn’t close the gap, finishing over four minutes back. Italian MTB marathon specialist Debora Piana rounded out the podium after a steady, disciplined ride.

The men’s race unfolded like a tactical thriller. Leonardo Páez lit up the early climbs, cresting Passo Monte Croce in the lead, but Rabensteiner played the long game. Sitting outside the top three on the first ascent, he surged through the middle of the race, taking control over Carbonin and Tre Croci before launching a decisive move that no one could match. Páez clawed back time but had to settle for second, 26 seconds behind, with Norway’s Eskil Evensen-Lie completing the podium.

With the top 25% of each category earning qualification for the 2026 Gravel World Championships in Nannup, Western Australia, Lavaredo once again proved why it’s one of the most coveted and punishing stops on the UCI Gravel World Series calendar.
