The Gran Salida of the 81st edition of the Vuelta a España takes place in Monaco. The Spanish Grand Tour is likely to begin with a time trial in front of roaring city crowds, as stage 1 will not leave the Mediterranean microstate. Stage 2 sets off from Monaco to a destination yet to be revealed, while the final four days are rumoured to take place on the islands of Gran Canaria and Tenerife.
Should that prove true, we can expect summit finishes on Pico de las Nieves and Mount Teide. The Vuelta would then wrap up on Tenerife’s iconic volcanic training grounds.
The route of the 2026 Vuelta a España will be announced in December 2025.
