Dumoulin back in pink as Ulissi wins Stage 4

Lampre Merida's Diego Ulissi triumphed on the 200km road from Catanzaro to Praia a Mare. Second place for Tom Dumoulin (Giant-Alpecin) ensured he will wear the Maglia Rosa jersey for Wednesday's stage five.

Marcel Kittel's group was dropped with around 50 kms to go on the 3rd category climb of the San Pietro

Inside of 30 kms and with several attacks made off the front of the main peleton, a group of 14 riders were 30 seconds ahead. With 10 km's to go, the attacking group hit the base of the Via del Fortino climb.

Diego Ulissi attacked over the Via del Fortino and got a gap that stuck.

As the pelton caught the remaining attackers, it  was blown apart on the Via del Fortino. With 2 km's to go Tom Dumoulin rode off the front of the what was left of the main peleton to ensure he took the Pink Jersey back from Marcel Kittel.

Dumoulin is unlikely to keep the Pink Jersey as the race moves into the mountains, especially on stage 6.

Stage 5 is the second longest stage from Praia a Mare to Benevento and is fairly rolling stage with one third categorized climb, the Fortino early on in the stage.

Will BMC launch an attack?
